Hyperparathyroidism Support Group

Hyperparathyroidism is overactivity of the parathyroid glands resulting in excess production of parathyroid hormone (PTH). Increased PTH consequently leads to increased serum calcium (hypercalcemia) due to 1) increased bone resorption, allowing flow of calcium from bone to blood, 2) reduces renal clearance of calcium, and 3) increases intestinal calcium absorption.

Hi, I use this website for support with various things, just wondering if there are many people on here with MEN, this is the most closely related group I could find.

yes there are some from this site with this disease as hyperparathyroidism is usually first presenting endocrine disease.

See tabs across top of this website, find publications and then click on patient information. There is probably the best information that I have seen on this disease and easy to understand.
