Hyperparathyroidism Support Group
Hyperparathyroidism is overactivity of the parathyroid glands resulting in excess production of parathyroid hormone (PTH). Increased PTH consequently leads to increased serum calcium (hypercalcemia) due to 1) increased bone resorption, allowing flow of calcium from bone to blood, 2) reduces renal clearance of calcium, and 3) increases intestinal calcium absorption.
My goodness I was sorry to hear about your kidney stones and the stents - I hadn't realised you could have stents in that area of the body, that must have been truly awful! I hope you don't get stones again too. But drinking lots of water like you do should help to reduce the chances of that happening again.
English food can be considered quite bland sometimes but there are some pubs here that do really lovely tasty food.
The food at the Crazy Bear was amazing, real master chef type of food. I was telling another friend about it today and I know her daughter is getting married in April and she said her daughter had decided to have her hen party there! I told her what it was like and she is looking forward to it. There is one small detail I had to tell her - I hadn't mentioned it in my earlier note to you. The toilets/bathrooms ladies and gentleman are back-to-back and you can't tell which is which. Not only that my school friend and I had a bit of a giggle (and surprise) when we discovered that the huge mirrors with the sinks we stood in front of had a large gap below - which looked directly into the gents toilets! anyone standing in front of the urinals, you could see their backs as they were having a pee!!! The toilet decor in both is almost identical except the men's side has urinals but not as you know them, they are like giant panes of glass that tip forward and when they start to wee, a waterfall starts. My friend and I went that side by mistake at first and my friend thought they were large hand driers and put her hands underneath hahaha! These toilets have won the award of being the best in the UK and they truly are amazing. Yes try looking the place up on the web, you won't be able to see the toilets but you can see some of the rooms. Unfortunately we forgot to take photos, my husband only took 1 and it doesn't show much, the rooms are quite dark/dimly lit. We got so carried away chatting etc we forgot to take pics.
I've had terrible indigestion for the last couple of days and last night I was really sick 4 times in the night and felt awful this morning. I spoke to a pharmacist today who gave me some medicine and she said there is a gastric bug going around at the moment and I may have it. Will see how I feel tomorrow. She said if it lasts more than a few days to go to the doctor.
Your weather sounds as bad as ours. Ours is unprecedented and another 14,000 homes have been affected by flooding. We don't have snow but some floods are so bad now there are swans swimming on the water! Wrap up in the cold where you are.
Hope you feel ok tomorrow and have a good night's sleep.
Take care.

Story to hear about your stomach bug! That sounds horrible! You must feel very weak and shaky. I hope it gets better soon!*hugs*
I can picture the Crazy Bear bathrooms!*lol* I'm glad that woman's bathrooms have stalls!
Wow, I can picture swans swimming across the water! We're having a bad storm right now with snow and freezing rain. I still want to try to go to the mall tomorrow. I take the bus and as long as they are still operating I will still go. I will be careful. My boyfriend is still under the weather but some medication that I bought him today seems to help.
I hope you rest well and feel better tomorrow! :)

I still have indigestion so took a couple of PPIs which I took with my steroids - the only thing that gets rid of most of the pain. I am going to have to make an appt and go and see my doctor like the pharmacist suggested. I think I have gastritis and need antibiotics. When I woke up this morning I had gut ache and had a metallic taste in my mouth and when I rinsed it there was some dilute blood which also came up with some acid reflux so I clearly now have something else to deal with whilst recovering from parathyroid disease. What a nuisance. If it's not one thing,.......The gut pain can be very severe. Thanks for the hug,. Hug back.
I'm glad to hear your boyfriend is feeling better now you have got him some medicine. These viruses can make you feel really unwell.
Amazingly there has been another sink hole about 12 miles from where I live, a different area from last time, it's a town with a huge shopping centre. It's just unheard of here, I can't believe it unless it's to do with all the continuing wet weather but it's not in one of the badly hit storm areas. It was 30 feet wide and 20 feet deep! Luckily (don't know how) but no-one was hurt or injured.
I hope your stormy weather improves soon.
Keep well and have a great day tomorrow and a peaceful night.

I'm sorry to hear about your digestive troubles! I hope that you can be treated soon! Seeing blood would be really scary! Please let me know how it goes!
I was able to get out to the mall yesterday and enjoyed my movie. It helps to get out sometimes especially in the winter. Speaking of winter we're getting another major winter storm tonight into tomorrow. They're calling for between 35-45cm of snow! Also it's supposed to be very windy!
Wow, those sinkholes opening up everywhere would be terrifying! Is the area where you live safe?
I haven't been doing too badly Because of my allergies every morning when I wake up my nose is stuffy, my sinuses swollen and the glands in my neck swollen. I really do hope that it helps moving out of this place.
