Hyperhidrosis Support Group
Primary hyperhidrosis is the condition characterized by abnormally increased perspiration, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature. Some patients afflicted with the condition experience a distinct reduction in the quality of life. Sufferers feel at a loss of control because perspiration takes place independent of temperature and emotional state.
I know how you feel (besides the boyfriend thing). It sucks-it definitely sucks. I was taking the generic of Rubinol for the past 3 years. It 'worked' up to an extent. I can relate to the long-term memory thing but didn't think there was a link to the Rubinol. Thank you for that thought!
I am now weaning off of Rubinol to try Botox for my palms. I also have HH on my palms and feet. I really don't have a problem with it for underarms, but when I was a teenager, it was baaad! I had to wear black or navy shirts alll of the tiiime...
So anyway, I am currently weaning off of glycopyrollate and of course I notice the change in my body....
I can feel my body get hot, even in cool or chilly temperature-sucks!
I can then feel my sticky, sweaty palms coming back...oh great!
The last medication I will wean from will be the Drysol. I use this on my palms every night.
I have to discontinue both to get the Botox done. I am scheduled next month to get about 25 injections in each hand. Sweaty, maybe you should look into this. I have an HMO insurance. They are covering the one billing code, but not the other. It should cost around $200 for the procedure and it's supposed to last around 3 months or so. I have read that the longer you have the Botox procedure done, the longer it lasts.
You have to look for other ways to manage it. You have to.
Take care,
