Hyperhidrosis Support Group
Primary hyperhidrosis is the condition characterized by abnormally increased perspiration, in excess of that required for regulation of body temperature. Some patients afflicted with the condition experience a distinct reduction in the quality of life. Sufferers feel at a loss of control because perspiration takes place independent of temperature and emotional state.
you are not alone....
my ua used to sweat alot but when I tried this thig I saw on the internet it really works, but unfortunately not effective on my palms and feet..
We have to do what we can, right?
ETS helped me with sweaty hands (it was never my palms, but always the top of my hands, and arms, dripping) but now I sweat elsewhere and still have the same anxieties, which have amplified over the years. For social gatherings I use medication (methanetheline bromide) which really helps me. On a day to day basis I try to deal with it and give myself what I need to feel comfortable without judging myself. In my case this means bringing a change of undershirts for work, use a space heater and wear many layers without feeling stupid. I sweat when I'm cold, which makes me feel colder, which makes me sweat more. I also sweat when I'm nervous, which I am a lot, because of the sweat.
I also sweat when I'm hot. It's very difficult to find the right temperature because that's not the only thing making me sweat. The anxiety is the main culprit for me. I'm working on that, but it just takes a loong time...
A newer way of doing ETS might be a solution for hand sweating. I suffer from a lot of compensatory sweating from my ETS 13 years ago, not sure if I would do it again knowing what I know today. But then again, I can't know how I would be doing without it...
Hang in there, everyone.
