Okay, so I'm aging out of the childrens hospital system (I'm 18) and my current neurosurgeon won't reccomend anyone to me really hes kind of acting like he doesn't really care i'm leaving. Soo I was just wondering how you found your neurosurgeons or like what type of questions you asked to see if you liked them etc.

I would suggest that you talk to your neurosurgeon's secretary. S/he may know where other patients have transferred to. Also, if you have a neurologist they may know who you can go to. You may also want to ask your general practicioner for advice.

Well, I aged out of Children's Hospital 18 years ago. I went through my G.P., & got refered to a neuro-surgeon, three cities out. BUT, his office is near my home, which makes it even better. This surgeon had done an emergency shunt revision for me, back in May, 2000.
I really didn't ask any questions to see if I like him. He just showed a general care and i've been with him ever since. I just left me G.P.'s office tonight, & i'm in the process of being refered back to the neuro-surgeon, since I have another blockage coming. We'll see what happens again, soon enough.

Hi! I'm in the process of getting a new neurosurgeon. Some questions my friends and family members have told me to ask him/her are: Who can I call when I have a question or if I suspect there is a problem? Go to my journal for the rest of the questions.
