I will most likely be having surgery for the first time in 21 years tomorrow or the next day. I am at the freaking out stage.
I found out a few weeks ago that I have a blockage. I had an appointment with my surgoeon in mid-January and physically and mentally I cannot wait that long. Unfortunately he is on vacation until January 18, so I do not even know who I will be seeing.
If anyone has any success stories of surgeries with no complications, please let me know.

My last surgery was in October of this year. My shunt had blocked up. I only knew because I woke up feeling nauseous. I was put on the standby list and had to stay in the hospital for two days. But nothing got worse, no vomitting or unconsciousness and I was able to have surgery two days after seeing the surgeon. I'm sure everyhing will go fine. Think positively.
