I am pissed off. I am taking a boxing class at the gym tomorrow because I need to find an outlet for my anger and I would love to hit a punching bag. I have had hydro. since birth. I have had 13 brain surgeries over the course of my life. The most recent was almost three years ago. Two months ago I was mis-diagnosed with an ovarian cyst. During surgery it was discovered that I have a sack surrounding my shunt instead. The fluid was drained. The fluid reappeared within a month of surgery. I am having an aspiration in three days to determine if there is an infection. I am scared and pissed off that I need to have the needle aspiration. I hate needles, and I am afraid of the pain.
I am so angry I want to scream and cry. Why me, why now?? I want to focus on my first Christmas with my boyfriend, but all I can think about is the upcoming surgery and my anger. I am finding myself being rude to people for no reason, except for the fact they do not understand the misery I am feeling.
Is this normal?? What can I do to handle my emotion?? I am not in a ton of pain and I know I will be ok in the end, but I am stressed and angry about the situation.

It's normal to be angry. Two years ago I spent Christmas in bed after another revision. It's frustrating. I'm in Army JROTC at my high school and I wanna join their raiders club on the side, to do army-style workouts twice a week and I also want a gym membership. Exercise really takes anger away.

I haven't had this condition my whole life so i dont know exactly what you are going through but i have been dealing with this crap since i was 13 and have had around 50 surgeries, so I do know what your going through when it comes to not wanting to be cut open. The best way i delt with my anger was being with the person who could make me laugh the night before and forget all about the surgery.

I too dread the concept of having another surgery sometime down the line. also, when one malfunctions it can cause irritation and rage issues. i was pretty pissed off prior to my surgeries due to the malfunction. i dont mean pissed off about having an upcoming surgery... i mean literally pissed off and moody because its a side effect of hydrocephalus when things arent working right.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
