I just need to vent to people who understand what I am going through.
I had a programmable shunt implanted in March. Due to this surgery a good chunk of hair was shaved off. Thankfully the shaved part is completely covered by my other hair. I have been blessed with really thick hair.
Having said that, I miss my hair :( When I had surgery as a teenager it took four years for my hair to grow back that it was all the same length. Please tell me that I am not going to miss the hair for that long. I can't have my hair layered right now, I want to change my hair cut but what I want to do I can't because It would show the shaved part.
I have been through a lot worse this year, but the missing hair is a daily reminder that hydro is still controlling my life.

I know the feeling, I wanted to donate my hair after high school. But, I had a couple surgeries, one of which was to implant a programmable valve, and it took me sever years before my hair was long enough to donate. It took over year just for it grow back to where it looked normal, with repeated hair cuts. But, it's still the worst part of being a girl with this condition.

I know what you mean, I had so many surgeries last year they shaved my entire head. Went in with long (down to my waist) thick hair... left three months later completely bald. Im trying to be patient but its hard. I'll be so happy when I can put it in a pony tail again.

I understand. I have had a headache for 5 weeks now, and we cant do anything because my dads in the hospital. But that is Ok, because i will get my turn.
