Human papillomavirus is a diverse group of DNA-based viruses that infect the skin and mucous membranes of humans. More than 100 different human papillomavirus (HPV) types have been characterized. Some HPV types cause benign skin warts, or papillomas, for which the virus family is named. HPVs associated with the development of such "common warts" are transmitted...
I believe the genital warts doesn't affect you having kids. I don't know though, so don't quote me on that. I would honestly ask your doc or her OBGYN about it. ya know ?
Yes! If you have sex with her, your warts can come back. My boyfriend and I have him keep his boxers on so we don't spread the warts to each other. We also use a condom because the warts can develop inside of her if the inside of her vag. is exposed. If you touch her than touch yourself, you are exposing yourself to the warts again. So my bf and I keep our hands where ever they start. If they start on each other, they stay on each other and if they start on ourselves, they stay on ourselves! lol Hope that makes sense.
I don't know about the clearing the virus after 2 yrs. That's what is said, but I don't know. I heard that you can have no warts for years at a time and still pass it to sex partners. I would ask your doctor about that to be honest.
This is just my experience. I'm not a dr or anything close to a dr. lol!
Good luck & take care
Marie
About having sex with her and worsening your condition, from my understanding my gynecologist said there is no "ping-pong" effect with HPV. You cannot continue to re-infect one another with the same strain of HPV, meaning that if one persons warts go away and they have sex with their partner who still has them, it does not mean that they will once again get warts. This virus is based on the immune function of the body, which is why sometimes people's sexual partners never show symptoms.
I am also a firm believer in the clearing of the virus as statistically 90% of people clear it within 2 years. There are obviously exceptions to this, but generally that is for people with other conditions that severely hinder their immune ability to fight the virus (for example HIV/Aids). You will be with her for the rest of your life most likely so don't worry so much about that because you won't be infecting anyone else! Just work on getting rid of your warts :) Keep your head up! This is definitely not the end of the world! There are millions of people who have this virus that don't come on there forums because they don't think about it! It's aesthetically unpleasing, that's all :) It affects us as much as our minds let it... and being positive keeps our stress levels down which in turn prevents more warts!
Yes you can have sex if you both have warts. You both have the virus. As at2828 said, there is no "ping pong" effect.
Its debatable as to whether you will spread warts around and make it worse (there never is a "yes" or "no" answer with hpv). Some doctors say it is present all over the skin anyway, so it doesnt matter. Some say its mainly only in the warts and so you might move the virus around. But the important thing is to get your immune system working, and then they will all go away. Basically, if you are worried, use a condom just in case (its better to, anyway) and dont worry about it anymore.
yes you can have kids. No problem. My understanding is that a normal birth is the normal proceedure for mothers with hpv (but thats only from online reading, so ..... not 100% sure). There is a very very very (very!) rare condition in which new borns get warts in their throat, which would require treatment. Thats all I believe.
Its generally assumed that if you dont have symptoms for 2 years that you have effectively cleared the hpv. Eat well, sleep well, hug your gf a lot and de-stress. You both will be fine.
