HPV Support Group
Human papillomavirus is a diverse group of DNA-based viruses that infect the skin and mucous membranes of humans. More than 100 different human papillomavirus (HPV) types have been characterized. Some HPV types cause benign skin warts, or papillomas, for which the virus family is named. HPVs associated with the development of such "common warts" are transmitted...
I was lets say "half" diagnosed with warts... My family doctor said it was probably warts but to go to my gyno, but they went away so fast and haven't returned that my gynecologist is now doubting that's what it was (she never got to see them because they went away so fast). So if that's what it was.. keep in mind that they CAN go away quickly!
I think it's more a mental burden than anything... I have been reassured many times by my gynecologist (even two weeks ago) that there's no sign of warts... but I continue to feel small bumps and lumps and all that and stress out every single day!
The worst thing you could do is leave your girlfriend alone.. I'm sure she still loves you no matter what. If I have HPV I got it from my current boyfriend but I haven't told him because I'm still unsure and they went away so fast.... but I still love him nonetheless and think that this small aesthetically unpleasing virus is a small price to pay for having him in my life!! I'm sure that your girlfriend feels the same, from what it sounds like you see a future with her, so try not to worry so much! Just try to cope with this together. And remember, in time this too shall pass :)
70% of people get rid of the virus within one year! and over 90% get rid of it in two years! That's even including the high-risk strains, and low-risk are more likely to spontaneously clear than high risk.
I hope this eased your mind a bit... just breath and try to stay calm, I promise there are much worse things! Think of all the people who have terminal cancers or aids or even herpes which is much worse than this!

First of all, there are a lot of emotions associated with yr diagnosis and everyone here as been through the same range of emotions. I sat with a knife at my wrist one day about a year ago, thinking that was the best solution. Its not.
Take some deep breaths, and just stay calm. You need to keep this in perspective. at2828 got it just right. There are way worse things out there.
You didnt do anything wrong. You didnt hurt anyone. There is no way to know who infected who and it really doesnt matter.
You both share a transient, generally harmless virus that 85% of the population has at some point in their lives. And you are in a relationship with some one you love. You are so lucky to have that person. (I had no one). Hang on to each other, help each other, talk to each other, support each other in every way possible.
Sleep and eat, find a way to relax, find someone (maybe a best friend or family member) to cry/vent/rant to, find something to make you laugh (I watched UK comedy shows while applying aldara - just laughing helped me so much) , and post on here lots. Its good!
You and your partner will be fine. Dont let this thing ruin your life.
