Cervix and your period?

Does anyones cervix hurt before they start their period?? I have noticed a few weeks before I start my period my cervix starts to have these pains. I didn't know what it was at first and it would hurt pretty bad...... then after I would start my period they stopped. I have irregular periods so I never know when I am going to start......... until now since I get those pains. But is it normal, and anyone experienced this before???

I noticed a difference in my pains after I had my first leep...I think it has to do with the scar tissue on my cervix but not sure. I don't dilate either when giving birth until the doctor manually strips my cervix past the ring of scar tissue.

Yes...I absolutely know what you're feeling. I've had two LEEPs, and notice a difference when I menstruate.

I will say, though, that the discomfort has subsided a bit with time. (My last LEEP was in March of 2007)

I too had irregular periods, along with polycystic ovary syndrome, and then they stopped altogether. I was put on the drug Metformin and now my periods are regular again.

Talk to your doctor about the possibility of PCOS and treatment options.
