I've been single, and pretty much abstinent for over 2 years now. I know that abstinence is not a bad thing, but it's hard to accept when it's not by choice.
It does things to your mind that I feel are causing huge personality shifts. I avoid going out, meeting new people, talking to girls, and when I do, I immediately put myself in the "friend zone". This was NEVER me. I'm starting to develop the courage to date again (or the desperation has reached a breaking point, can't really tell which), but at any rate, I want to venture out again. I don't know where to begin. I feel so disconnected from reality. And honestly, it's not just the lack of a sex life. I miss the affection, the love, pretty face to wake up to in the morning, going out of your way willingly to make each others lives easier, being a team. I feel like my loneliness has dug a huge hole in my personality, I almost feel like less of a person. I want some one to hold, someone to care for. I want to feel human again.
