The itch is driving me crazy! its at it's worst all ways waking me up at 3 or so in the early morning. I'm waiting to see a surgeon in June but till then dose anyone out there know of anything that will work to stop the itch?? I also wonder if its so itchy at night never at all in the day. could it mean my immune system is fighting this? I've had this for a year now with no treatment.

I've had the same problem as you for approx. the past 3 years. I think my problem was first caused by an anal fissure as well as eczema possibly, now it's anal warts that cause the itch in the last 4 months. The feeling is terrible! Some things that have helped me are using a wet wipe to clean the area after using the bathroom, and applying witch hazel and/or tea tree oil with a q-tip or cottonball. If you have any open sores in the areas I would not recommend using tea tree oil because it can sting a lot! My doctor told me that itchying could be a sign that your body is healing and also could be caused by treatment creams like Aldara. You may only notice it at night because you don't have all the distractions of everyday life to take away your attention from the itch. I hope this helps and good luck! :)

You could ask you doctor about a hydrocortisone cream which tends to stop itch caused by inflammation?

well the last few days the itch has calm down a lot in the last few months it was really bad!` then just a few days ago its not itchy so I'm getting a full night of sleep thank God! I did not do anything different but I am eating better and taking a daily vitamin and B12 1200mg maybe that is helping who knows? as long as the itch is down its a happy butt :-) soon I'll know about laser surgery seeing a surgeon hope that will clear it and move on with my life.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
