Have you been to a doctor for it? I've read that docs often perform laser surgery for internal anal warts and get rid of the external small warts at the same time. aldara sometimes works well for getting rid of warts but it doesn't work for everyone, also you can use it internally.

oh yes I started being treated he sprayed the nitro on the warts it seems to be working I thought. But the doctor said he did not think so and wants I see someone else I just wanted to know what is out there for best treatment. what if I just left them would they go away?

Sometimes they go away on their own, but sometimes they don't. My doc tried a bunch of different treatments but the more he treated the more popped up. I ended up having laser surgery both inside and on my vulva. That took care of it quickly but I have been slow to heal.

that dose not sound to good I kind of think if you bug the warts more will come. Did it hurt having laser surgery do they put you out to do it? I wonder how true it is when I read that your body can cure it in 2 years My doctor talk to me about getting 3 shots to boost my immune system anyone hear about that? all I know is it cost $600.00 I am not sure its worth it but maybe it can't hurt? thanks for your info I only learn I got this 3 weeks ago it was a big blow to me but I'm dealing with it. yeah, they put me under for the surgery. the surgery I had was pretty extensive (cervix, parts of the vagina, vulva, some areas around the anus), so it was pretty swollen and sore afterward for a number of weeks. the warts weren't visible everywhere, but showed up when vinegar was applied.

the one good thing about laser surgery is that it destroys the warts immediately. my gyno has been practicing for 30 years and said he has had a lot of luck seeing complete clearance after surgery. unfortunately, I still had a few lingering after surgery (in areas that were not lasered) and used aldara afterward. right now I have no warts, but I'm always checking to see if they come back.

I hear you about the itching too....the itch was SOOOO bad before I had surgery. when ever I get an itch anywhere in that area, I wonder if one is about to pop up. I have some itching around the anus but I don't see any warts there when I look, but I have hemroids too, and I think it might be from that. Preparation H helps with itch because of the cortizone, have you tried that?

While I was home for a few weeks after surgery (healing), I did a lot of research online to find what types of supplements I could take or foods I could eat to help boost my immune system and fight the virus. I haven't been too great about eating healthy but I do take a ton of stuff to help boost my immune system as well as fight viruses:

Mulit-vitamine (make sure Zinc is in it)
Vitamin C - 4000 mg
Vitamine D - over 1000 IU
Echinacea
Goldenseal
Astragalus
Green Tea Extract
Olive Leaf Extract
Cat's Claw
Turmeric

Since taking all these supplements, I have not had to take my allergy medicine any more (vitamin C has antihistamine properties). Also I haven't had a full blown cold all winter. I have had very mild cold symptoms (a sore throat and a sniffle) for 1/2 a day but then it was gone when I woke the next day.

I do believe that supplements really do help to boost the immune system, you might want to research supplements online and figure out which ones you might want to try.

My God you been though a lot and still they missed a few warts I would have gone nuts. in my case it was very itch at first yet I did not do much about it you know us guys are slow to see a doctor. after 8 months I finally went I had a lot in the anus skin tags the doctor did spray it with nitro after it got so itch but after 3 days it was OK just at night when you want to sleep the warts seem to wake up and make you crazy! I try everything not to scratch and it goes away if not I found taking a good shower help a lot! I think I am in good shape but I don't eat to much in the veggi and no fruit. I think if I want to beat this I'm going to have to eat better that might kill me LOL I do take a Mulit-vitamine every day but are you taking all those supplements every day? by the way thank you for all the info :)

Just wanted to jump in and offer that the colorectal surgeon I saw advised me to STOP using any steroid creams (like hydrocortisone, Prep H, prescription hemrrohoid/anal itching creams) when you have anal warts and are trying to treat them, because steroids reduce inflammation and swelling (and hence, itching) by suppressing your immune response. Which is the very last thing you want to do when trying to beat back/suppress/shed the HPV virus. Made sense to me.

She also said that despite what the labels say, one can use Aldara internally (at least anally), depending on one's own reaction to it.

Thanks for the info in the anti itch cream, I didn't realize it suppresses the immune system.

You're welcome. Obviously, I'm not a doctor, nor am I trying to play one online, so people would be wise to confirm that with their own docs rather than just take my word for it, but it is what she said, and she's got more than 20 years experience dealing with these warts....

I really wonder about that in % it can't be all that much to effect your immune system. or only put it on for days it drives you mad. I don't put anything on mine I just found taking a good shower and making sure its clean seems to stop the itch and trying not to think about it. But at night it does seem to get more worse just before bed the buggers seem to know "hey lets keep him up tonight itch itch itch" :)

anotherhpv, to answer your question earlier....yes, I do take those supplements every day. When I was home after surgery, I did a lot of research online to see what things I might be able to do on my own to help boost my immune system and fight the virus. It's a lot to take, but I do believe that it has helped some. I was also taking aldara for a short while. Right now, I have no visible warts and I'm hoping that by taking the supplements and trying to eat right and taking care of myself that they won't return.

"May75" that is a lot of pills but if it works its well worth it! I will ask my doctor this week what he thinks just to be safe. I do worry a lot if I have to have surgery and having pain after! cause I don't have any now and the itch is not to bad but when I got the nitro spraying then they were itch like crazy I know one thing we will all beat this and get on with are life.

Yes, the % of steroids in any of the OTC anti-itch or anti-swelling creams might not be that much--obviously more so for prescription creams like Proctosol--but the idea makes sense in terms of cumulative effect: itching and inflammation are part of the body's immune system response, so suppressing that at a site where you want it to be strongest to combat the HPV infection seems counter-productive, at least over time.

Again, not a doctor, but my specialist was very clear about it.

To combat itch without steroids, try things like witch hazel, aloe vera creams, even liquid Vitamin E oil. These will relieve symptoms and reduce swelling without interfering with the immune response.
