Homelessness Support Group
Homelessness refers to the condition and societal category of people who lack fixed housing, specifically a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. The definition also includes a person who has a primary nighttime residence that is in transitional housing or a person who spends most nights in a supervised public or private facility.

My sister gave me $30 to help me out a little. What shoud I do with it? Put it all in my gas tank and hope my car doesn't break down and it is useless to me? Do I eat dinner tonight and risk needing that money for something else? Do I take a shower so I feel more confident for my interview I have in the morning? (That's $12.50 at the flying J's last time I took one) It feels like instead of living paycheck to paycheck I now live day to day and sometimes moment to moment. I'm so tired. I just want a nice bed to sleep on with privacy and safety, a nice hot meal, and a wonderful hot shower. I miss those things most of all. There is a place that serves a dinner every night except Sundays but I feel so tired I don't even want to drive all that way and I would be using some of my precious gas to get there and back to my sleeping spot at the truck stop. Help me decide, please?

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

I don't know what area you are in, but would the $30 pay any significant amount toward a hotel room or Airbnb for a night? (I'm thinking even in a cheap room you would get the shower and a bed and a bit of a break from the car). It may sound extravagant, but I recently spent one night at a cheap hotel and it felt like a vacation. Even though I am currently in an apartment until I have to move out in the coming weeks, it doesn't have a shower (so I go a very long time without getting very clean) and is ridiculously hot and I am surrounded by loud noise that drives me mad. The one night away did me a lot of good and I felt clean for a week after the shower:) In your case, an occasional night somewhere but your car, coupled with a timely shower?..... The suggestion comes late, I know, as today is the day of your interview....., and if it were feasible to get a hotel or motel room you probably would have already done it. (Is Airbnb a possibility for one night?)
I am so happy you are enjoying this bit of a break! Please don't feel guilty! I'm sure you need it and deserve it. I also hope you will be happy in your new job:)
What has helped me cope with day-to-day moments is to count my blessings...
You do have a car to sleep on when the rain falls... as you mention, you have someone that cares about you at this time to shell out 30 bucks, to help for the night... Staying focused is hard to do with an empty tummy... so I can see your sister's love for you.
I know you're smart and did get to use your money wisely. I like the idea of you having a nice shower and a small meal before an important interview, sleeping a night in your car doesn't seem like a bad idea, of course considering all fingers crossed, you get the anticipated job that following morning!
All the stress is what feels bad and not seeing the full potential, you are worthy of a fresh and clean ready to tackle and conquer your next-step attitude, after the hardship you've been under... and really, 12.50 investment at flying J's... can open up that one special door for the rest of your fourth coming Blessings...
Sending you lots of appreciating love at this time.
