Hello. Can anyone tell me when the hair loss begins with ABVD? I decided to get my shoulder length straight hair cut yesterday into a messy above chin length bob. I have been in treatment for around 5 - 6 weeks and still no hair loss. Is this typical? Also will I loose my hair in handfuls or in small amounts? The nurses at infusion has asked if my hair has began to thin. I have not noticed any hair loss in the shower, during brushing my hair, or on my pillow. Can anyone share their experience?

I had very thick long hair before chemo. Had it cut shoulder length before chemo. I had 6 rounds (6months) worth of ABDV chemo. I had no hair loss at really until maybe after month 4, and hairloss gradually sped up. I have finished chemo and still have my hair, although slight obvious thinning patches which im finding quite easy to hide using hair fibres. Never got a wig. I think it depends on your hair type. I am still loosing hair 5 weeks after chemo, but hoping it will slow down soon! ! I also slept with a hairnet on (and still do) to minimise friction whilst sleeping. I only washed my hair every other week, or once a week at the most! Don't go shaving your hair off until you really have to, it's falls advice. I would have been raging if I had shaved my hair off and didn't loose it. See how it goes! My hair is coming out so much, but it's still not noticeable to others. You can loose something like 50% of your hair volume before people notice.
