Hi All, I have a request of many of you. It seems that I AM the only person in the HIV Support group that uses "Holistic Health" as a treatment. I know this is not true. There are several of you in this group that use vitamins and herbs and other "non-traditional" methods to help you manage your disease. So, it is my hope and request that you add http://dailystrength.org/treatments/Holistic_Health/ to your current list of treatments so that others may benefit from at least trying to add something healthy to their routine.
I AM concerned that newly diagnosed peeps will only see prescription meds as an effective treatment for HIV and that simply is not factual and leaves the pharmaceutical companies with all the glory. :^P So my request to all of you is to add Holistic Health to your treatments, even if you only take a daily vitamin. Taking a vitamin is not a cure but it is a pro-active step to managing your health and really needs to BE documented.
The treatments for all of the communities here on Daily Strength are important for statistical analysis. It is so important that we do add what works and does not work for ourslves, so others have that benefit and can make decisions based on other's experiences.
PLEASE don't leave me all alone out here with my Vitamin C supplements and herbal teas!
BE WELL.
JoAnn
P.S. It seems I AM the only person in the HIV support group that finds "Laughter" to BE an effective treatment in managing HIV as well. Really? So that means there isn't a single other person in this group that has found laughing and smiling an effective treatment for managing this disease or any other? I find that very hard to BElieve and encourage others to join so we can let the World know there is laughter after diagnosis. I leave you with a joke in an attempt to crack that icy glare.
Two boys in Boston were playing baseball when one of them was attacked by a rabid Rottweiler. Thinking quickly, the other boy ripped a board off of a nearby fence, wedged it into the dog's collar and twisted it, breaking the dog's neck.
A newspaper reporter from the Boston Herald witnessed the incident and rushed over to interview the boy. The reporter began entering data into his laptop, beginning with the headline:
"Brave Young Red Sox Fan Saves Friend from Jaws of Vicious Animal."
"But I'm not a Red Sox fan," the little hero interjected.
"Sorry" replied the reporter. "But since we're in Boston, Mass, I just assumed you were." Hitting the delete key, the reporter began: "John Kerry Fan Rescues Friend from Horrific Dog Attack."
"But I'm not a Kerry fan either," the boy responded.
The reporter said, "I assumed everybody in this state was either for the Red Sox or Kerry or Kennedy. What team or person do you like?"
"I'm a Texas Ranger fan and I really like George W. Bush," the boy said.
Hitting the delete key, the reporter began again:
"Arrogant Little Conservative Bastard Kills Beloved Family Pet."

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
