Ok, I have been living with HIV now for 6 years and 3 months, I have not been in a relationship since..I have met men and When I tell them about my status I never hear from them again. Yes, I wait to let them know and I have told them up front, because why get to know someone and start caring for them and then you get hurt. I am so ready to share my life with someone and am lost. I have told myself that I want to be with someone that it not Poz, But I have change my thought about that. I need help, I do not know what to do or how about to look anymore!!! I have so much love to give just need to find that someone!!!.. I have checked out some HIV site but they say they are free and then want money, Is there any FREE site's out there?

Hi missmary, sorry of your dating troubles. It's difficult when fear of us hurts us. Dating sites are a roll of the dice also. Someone turns out to be someone else ( I hate that ).

Certain levels of memberships in these dating sites are free. It's still all about money though. Base memberships are usually free, but they just don't offer much at the free level of membership. hiv.net is free, Good Luck MissMary xx

Hi, I am exactly where you are right now and I been dealing with this for 22 yrs. I have been married twice, one died and the other, well, we won't go there lol,. My second husband was negative as most of my boyfriends. There is hope. But you have to keep doing what your doing. Tell them immediately so you won't have to go through the pain later, like I have experienced. As for the free sites, hivpassions.com is COMPLETELY free. It costs not one penny. Also poz.com is free unless you want to upgrade for 19.99 for 3 months of upgrade. Not bad. Many blessings.

Miss Mary, do not know your age, but perhaps you need to think more like a 'cougar'. Personally hate that term but I find men a few years younger than 40s just a bit less worried and more accepting. And if nothing else, great for your confidence ;)
Attitude is everything, we should not be ashamed! Look at the statistics and see how many people get clamydia??? Sooo many people get STDs, So many people have 'unsafe sex', just ours is the notorious one ;)
I reckon it is attitude that will make the difference :) Be proud and love yourself! :)

I've tried those dating sites myself and it is a money making business rather than people wanting to find love for those of us with the stigma of HIV attached.
I don't even TRY dating nowadays because I always feel there'll be someone better looking or with more money etc who doesn't have HIV that they can choose over me.
Saying that, I've been HIV+ since I was 20 years old and I am now 25. For three of those years I was with the most loving HIV negative man who knew about my status and just wanted to support me. He got tested regularly and is still negative and although we're not together now, he is still one of my closest friends. It was actually me who ended the relationship, not him.

There IS hope out there and I do hope you find someone.
