Ive been on Atripla for almost 2 months. A few weeks after I started it I broke out in a rash. Red spots and bumps all over my chest, neck, back, butt and thighs. However, they just went away on their own after about 5 days or so. Every person is different so I would still consult your doctor.

When I started on meds I also began to itch. It has become a way of life so far. And that was 4 yrs ago. It has diminished somewhat over the last year. Itches more during the winter when I have to wear extra clothing. My dr gave me a topical ointment to use for the itching and it does help a lot. So ask your dr for something to ease the itching. Lotion doesn't help a lot, but a prescribed ointment should.

I was on Atripla for two weeks and I had the worst rash I have ever had. All over my body except my face. It did not itch but was a good 3-4 weeks. Then it cleared up and never appeared again since the last year. My doctor told me that he had never seen a rash that severe, but i survived it. .you will do! God Bless!

Ditto....try oatmeal based soap and stay moisturized. I have recently switched meds to Complera...still have itching but the dreams, dizziness and lethargy are gone. Seems to be much better for me.

yes it happens, yes from the start it can be all over the body,
then it tapers off to 1 small area here or there,

never fully went away.

I can say this for sure because I was on it for 3 years,
then stopped taking it, and started it again,

All symptoms are as are stated in this thread..
symptoms not the same for everyone.

I've been taking Atripla since Feb..with zero side effects other than intox feeling- but as of August- my skin has been turned into a freak show similar to everyone's thread listed. Blotches can appear on my face, arms and legs at will..itch and disappear as if nothing happened. My ID doctor simply advised all is fine and keep applying medicated lotion to soothe. If it were a side effect it would've occured long ago...that typical mumbo/jumbo. I'm off to consult my dermatologist.

I've been on atripla for almost a year, although my counts are good, it does come at a price. I had some itching in the begining, not so much anymore, and no rash to speak of. Everyone reacts differently, I experience memory loss, joint pain, intoxicated feeling, vivid dreams just to mention a few.

It should lesson in time, but keep your ID Dr. informed.

I was on Atripla and had a severe rash, hives....i couldn't wear shoes it hurt so bad. Now i am taking Complera and doing well with it. Just make sure your ID doc is aware of the side effects. Maybe you are allergic to one part of the Atripla, as i was. Good luck!

itching finally went away as well as the rash..i'm a happy boy :-)

Im about to start Atripla just waiting for my ID dr to get some new blood work back..Ive been worried about side effects and what it can do to me..I know I want to be as healthy as possible so I guess Ill just test it out.
