Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...
Welllllll for me my note would say "This thing you are about to eat or drink, is it going to help your body or hurt your body?"
LOL, yep I have been eating some very wrong things for my health just lately and I am feeling it.
The other thing is I am a night owl, but it doesn't make me feel so great in the morning, I know if I go to bed a little earlier it would help.
So I don't know, I think my note should just cover everything that I am not doing to nurture my body and spirit and so
" Take time to do the right things for my mind and body to feel well and calm, nurture, love and accept myself"
something like that.
I'll have to put some thought into this but for now I would want to remind myself to ... BREATHE ... slow calming breaths ... at least 5 every hour.
Here is where I took what you gave me (descriptions in parenthesis are where this reminder takes me mentally)...
Honor the HSP (have respect for my limitations/gifts and treat myself accordingly)
Remember self care (rest, quiet, nutrition, taking time to center myself)
Be productive in all that I do (work-wise and self care wise. Don't squander time and resourses so that I feel i've been wasteful with either and won't allow myself more)
Nourish myself physically and spiritually (enough said! Big thanks to Naturegirl!)
Focus (keep centered and in the moment. Don't allow myself to get frenzied)
Breathe (big thanks to Janiver!)
Again??? (whew. what a big one. Thank you Crying for this)
Naturegirl, I had to laugh...I darn near turned to look thru my window when I read your post. I was just in the process of feeling munchy and was opening a box of chocolate malt balls! I put them away after reading your post! I'm a serious night owl too so I completely empathize with the difficult mornings and trying to stay somewhat on schedule with the rest of the world.
Well all, my list is still a work in progress. I've loved all your ideas thus far. I can't wait to see what else comes up. Thank you all.
raniagale, another great thought - thank you.
