Highly Sensitive People HSP Community Group
The highly sensitive person (or HSP) is someone who cares deeply about everything ... feels emotions with great intensity ... is highly conscientious ... has a rich and complex inner life ... is very intuitive ... is often creative in a variety of ways... is easily overwhelmed and/or overstimulated. A HSP needs lots of quiet time, space, and freedom. If this sounds...

I wish you all the best because it isn`t easy.
I prefer avoiding rx drugs and prefer dealing with my HSP and other issues by behavior modification. But I truly believe there can be chemical imbalances in many of us and I don't mind trying natural remedies.
I also wonder if my HSP can be related somehow to my high levels of bilirubin. Drs have tested me over the years (blood work, liver biopsy, etc) and there are no liver problems (I am not a heavy drinker). With no other related problems they conclude it's 'normal' for me to have high levels of bilirubin. (Per Mayo Clinic: "Bilirubin is a natural byproduct that results from the normal breakdown of red blood cells. As a normal process, bilirubin is carried in the blood and passes through your liver.")
Perhaps as more people are identified as being HSP someone may start medical studies to see if it there are chemical similarities among us. I'll volunteer :-)
Thanks for the info.
It is Hepa plus that I use but I get it from a lady who is a USANA rep. Just be careful what company you get your vitamines and minerals from because you need a product that is high quality especially because you are a HSP. I find we just don't absorb vitamins like other people do. The relora plex is good too but I get it from a naturalpath which is a high quality product. A multi vitamine is important too. I use essentials from USANA. I used NIASITOL for a while but USANA has a higher quality vitamine. It is possible to claim your life back. I have not felt this good in so long and honestly it is so good to be back! I just want others to have the same experience. I know vitamines can cost a bit but feeling good is so worth it.
I do have some online links you can look at
http://www.hsp-stress-relief.com/cortisol-and-stress.html#axzz1b44LFPoj
if you don't have this book it talks about cortisol levels too "highly sensitive person" by Dr. Elaine N. Aron

Hope that helps
I have a long list of recomendations that my husband and I have read and continue to read all of these have been recomended to us by amazing people who have great results in life.
I went to a very reliable vitamin store looking for the 2 items Hollie mentioned. Of course they didn't have the exact ones but did have ones substantially similar. It all seems to boil down to what is in their 'proprietary blend'. And the many options in such stores (or on web pages) are mind boggling, at least to me.
These links are helpful but then when you follow other links, e.g the Ayurveda Approach, they take you into a whole other realm of health maintenance. All the many options seems to be hard on this HSP. :-)
This is what worked for me, all I am saying is that it is possible to not feel so overwhlemed all the time and yes thicken our skin so we can handle stressful situations. I just want people to have hope and there are answers out there we just need to look in the right places. Vitamins, exercise, and reading positive books worked for me. I feel like a new person.
