This is your chance to voice your opinion on a cholesterol matter. I would like to here from others how YOU feel about an important issue. An Issue that commonly gets overlooked.
ISSUE: Are the current cholesterol guidelines justified?
In 2004, new cholesterol guidelines were set by National Cholesterol Education program. However, only after the guidelines were set there were some important discoveries.
The guidelines were based on five studies. All five of those studies were sponsored by the companies that sell us the pills to lower cholesterol.
9 very influential physicians reviewed those industry sponsored studies and made a recommendation to lower the cholesterol guidelines.
Only after the recommendations were accepted was it discovered that 8 of the 9 physicians had a financial relationship with cholesterol lowering drug companies.
Every time the guidelines are lowered, more people qualify to buy their drug, raking in huge profits for the drug companies.
How do YOU feel about this? Does it cause you to question the new guidelines? Or do you 100% accept the guidelines despite the cozy relationship between drug company and the 8 physicians?
Let your voice be heard.

I remember reading that this is a thing that is not only happening for Cholesterol but also for High Blood Pressure and other common ailments. I think it was in a book that I read by Dr. Bruce Lipton -- Darn I can't remember the name of the book.

With my husbands and 15 year olds cholesterol being genetic and the fact my husband is only 37 and is 4 months post quad bypass..... this really doesn't affect us because he is in the military and the doctors that he has seen for this can't get kickbacks or anything from drug companies. The only thing that is helping my guys get their cholesterol down is the medication they are taking, we eat healthy, walk and exercise on a regular basis and without the meds... I don't even want to think about the consequences.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
