Hi! Well, it does sound a bit unusual for HS. Hidradenitis boils, however they look, are usually always painful, especially if they are new and untreated. Also, there is usually no vomiting, unless there is a soft tissue infection or worse, which definitely doesn't appear to be the case. Does she have fever? I think a second opinion is in order, it could be lymph node enlargement bcs of a virus infection, or if it really is the skin, skin cysts or someting.... but not HS. Just an opinion, noone replied so there it is. Hope you got a diagnosis in the meantime anyway, best wishes.

Thanks, Ange_P... Our GP was always skeptical of this HS diagnosis so we are waiting to see if any more appear and will take it from there.

Thought the best opinions would be from those who suffer from HS, all my reading up on HS just tells me this is not HS, but when the DR gives you the diagnosis we have to stick with that until another DR says otherwise.

All the HS photos I've seen show red angry looking lumps and bumps? hers are skin colored with no tenderness/pain/redness. The dermatologist did get hold of them and squeeze which was a discomfort, she did not jump off the bed in pain when they are being touched!

Never had a fever, just fatigued when they are big she has sickness, can HS lumps leak/erupt internally into the body rather than on the skin like a boil ?

Well, yes, in a way, that's what causes the soft tissue infection, but in that case the symptoms would be much more dramatic, she'd have fever etc... And yes, they usually are angry, only way they'd not be so red or painful is if she were on antibiotics.

This sounds rather like what I think are my Strep (Streptococcus) cysts. Especially when they are growing I think they leak a bit and there are flare-ups of symptoms that go along with that.

When one actually ruptured under the skin, I got such a nasty abscess starting within hours that eventually I went into urgent care and nearly to the hospital as well.

My cysts like this usually flare up because something is causing me inflammation, sometimes I have gone years without these typically pea-sized cysts growing if I'm particularly careful to avoid my HS "triggers". I've had them come and go before, and during one of worst flares with them, my knees were so badly affected that I couldn't even walk.

They might be candidates for lancing or drainage, and antibiotics, depending on your preferences or eligibility?

My suspected Strep cysts are normally a ways down under the skin and extremely reluctant to drain out on their own - and so painful that I'm not sure I can stand to have lancing done without some kind of anaesthetic, although one of my cysts ended up close enough to the skin to actually open and drain on its own and was magically healed, even when I still have the one just like it that was right next to it.

This sounds like what happens to me. They are under the skin, but mine are red and then grown large enough to leave an ugly scar. It’s definitely tracks forming under my skin every time they grow back. They keep growing back in the same place, new ones form,, it starts to go down, then comes back in the same places. I was just diagnosed by a dermatologist about 6 weeks ago with HS. To me, mine does looks like HS bc of the scarring. Plus, I was initially diagnosed with staph, given Bactrim and it didn’t help. The dermatologist gave me doxycycline and some topicals for HS and it seemed to help and then it didn’t.

Hi this sounds similar to my HS minus the vomitting. I have a few lumps that can appear without me knowing it, they don't become viciously inflamed, are tender to touch and some will take weeks to months to heal depending on how deep they are. Recently I had many going on like this at the same time, my body couldn't fight any of them off, I was feeling hideously fatigued like your daughter and was prescribed a topical anti-biotic, they cleared up quite well after the alotted 2 weeks. I am adamant in refusing oral anti-biotic as they've never worked and make me ill which is the only reason I could get prescribed topical and it was far more expensive.
The pictures you might be looking at might all be very angry stage 3 HS? Good luck in finding answers, there could be a co-existing illness like many of us with HS.
