I saw my surgeon today and after all of the trouble we've been having with me healing, I'm finally getting better. The big open section of my incision where my stitches wouldn't hold is closing up fairly quickly and the spot where he thought I had an infection has cleared itself up. For once I didn't bust out crying and for once he didn't have to sit there with me and try to make me feel better. My surgeon deserves a medal for all the time he spends with me. I swear I need to get him a present.

The scar is still there obviously but I know I can learn to live with it. I know with time I won't mind it at all. With all the support I've been getting from the people in my life I feel like I'm getting back to being myself again and not the cry monster I turned into. Hopefully things keep going this way and we can knock out the next surgery with fewer (or no) complications.
