I'm glad it helped. I'll have to check with my doctor about that
I have stage 1 HS which has become particularly bad in the last 2 years although it started for me back in 2007 when I got my first abscess between my buttocks. My HS is generally in that area although very rarely I would get one in my armpit or groin.
I started spiro the first week of January 2015. The first month I was on 50 mg, second month 75 mg, then third month I have been on 100 mg ever since. I am still breaking out with acne and I still have 2 or 3 HS lumps between the buttocks but a couple are very small and not painful and one is just hanging around and slowly going away but was more painful than the others. The HS seems not as severe since spiro. However, the lumps are not gone...
I have been on the 100 mg dose for just over 2 months and I don't know if I should up my dose. I have been taking spiro for 4 months total and obviously this has not fixed my problem. Can anyone offer any advice?
I have such horrible cysts in my groin and started taking birth control again because when I was on it I didn't have hardly any so if it's only coincidental that when I quit my birth control the cysts broke out much more then I will be requesting this.
Ariesgiurl, that is amazing you are only on 50 mg and noticing improvement. Most people for HS or acne need to be on at least 100 mg. Can you share your story? Also, if you don't mind, what is your weight? I know that the best dosage is 1 kg per 1 mg but I am taking a higher dose than that. Thanks!
