I am three weeks post-surgery and I am still pretty sore. I had surgery in my groin, pelvic area,m inner thigh and anal spinter. My next appointment is Monday Aug 10. This past Monday she felt that I would be able to go back to work by next week but I don't think so. I work 16 hour days and about 13 of those hours I am on my feet and the other four I am sitting down charting. I am a nurse at a nursing home and I push a med chart for 3 for morning meds, about 1 hour for after noon meds, 3 hours for evening meds and 11/2 hours for night meds. All of this along with caring for the residents if and when issues arise. Give me your thoughts.

sorry im not able to give you advise more of a question for you. im going in for my first surgery soon and like you i also am a nurse in a nursing home setting. my question to you was, did your surgeon do a skin graph or was she able to do it without. mine also is in the same areas as your and between the breast.im just curious about these skin graphs and recovery. thank you and good luck

I was luck, I did not need to have a skin graft. Your doctor should tell you it you will possibly need a graft during the assessment of your cysts. I received multiple sutures. One at my bikini line from hip bone to hip bone, both sides of my groin, down my inner thighs, about 4 between my buttocks cheeks, and 2 on either side of my anal spinter. Also 2 right at the opening of my labia. I hope this helps. I understand that getting the skin grafts calls for extended time in the hospital and a longer reop time.

Depending on your employer, I wouldn't go back until you feel it's right. People and doctors who have never had this, especially in "those" places just don't undertand. Try to get it as healed as possible before you go back if you can. I feel that I can no longer work outside the house, so that is what I do. If it hurts to bad to walk on a certain day, I don't. I don't want to aggrevate the problem any more that it is! Please heal first. Oh, I almost forgot to ask - Have you ever tried boxer shorts!! I love them!! No more binding elastic panties!
