I have really high triglycerides and abnormally high WBC count. I asked and they arent alarmed bc i am ALWAYS fighting some infection somewhere. But I have not asked about Vitamin D so I will ask my dr upon my next visit. Thanks for looking.

I take 50,000 units of Vitamin D once a week and I take Lovastatin for high cholesterol. I have had no problems with either one of them. I do feel less tired since starting the Vitamin D. Not sure if it has anything to do with taking it or just happened with no connection.

Hey Shannon..well I am one that is suffering from vitamin D deficiency. My level is so low that u would be wondering how I am functioning & it's been pretty low for a while now. Well I haven't tried the zocor before, so I can't let u know anything there. Well good luck with trying the meds & keep me updated on how it works with getting your levels up. The sun is rare in Seattle, so yes I am also vitamin d deficient. I take 1000 mg per day. Probably should have a blood check again but can't afford it.

Even though the dr said that my HDL and triglycerides were so high they couldn't even count my LDL, I'm still hesitant to take the Zocor. My grandmother was on a statin drug and wound up with an inflamed liver they told her was fatty liver or something like that.

Yes. I had very low vitamin D when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and took the longest time to get them back up to a normal level. I can't wait for the sun to shine so I don't have to keep taking the vitamins.

My vitamin D was low - doc (dermatologist) put me on 50,000 units 3 times a week. Last time it was tested, I was back in the normal range. I thought it was interesting that my dermatologist would check for vitamin D, so there must be some type of connection.

Well I found out I am allergic to Clyndamiacin as well...boo (didn't feel like starting a new topic so sue me..lol :P
I'm on 50,000 units of Vitamin D once a week for the next three months and I'm trying like hell to get outside more than I do, although I don't see how I'm gonna do it, I'm sure as heck gonna try.
So now that I'm allergic to another antibiotic I'm on Augmentin right now and all seems well..no nausea no vomiting no chest pains nothing funny thank god.
Hoping the Augmentin works to bring down the white blood count as I REALLY don't want to do IV antibiotics right now, I just plain don't have the energy.
Starting to wonder what other vitamins I might be severely low on....

No I hadn't thought of possibly testing for vitaminB12 deficency. I'll bring that up with my doc, thanks!
Mammax3 how often does your son have his vitamin D tested and is it keeping his levels up?

And curious as to why you say forget getting back out in the sun...isn't that how we make most of our vitamin D?
