I've had both of my children vaginally and had minimal problems. Sounds gorry, but I tore REALLY bad with my son and had no problems with healing. Just do what they say to do like the sitz baths and the iodine wash and it'll be okay. C-Sections take FOREVER to heal from and you can't lift anything over like 5 pounds for a while.

hi i had both my children naturally and there was no problems with delivery and healing dont worry about the hs when your pregnant i only had 2 out breaks wheni was pregnant at 3 months and 6 months so i was not sore when i gave birth xxx

thanks for the responses. It's one of those things that I keep thinking about any worrying. I'm hoping my HS gets better with pregnancy b/c I heard that could happen. Although I look forward to going on the pill again some day b/c that really did help.

I have had 3 children 1 vaginally and two
c-section (due to an emergency NOT the HS)I did not have any trouble at all either way and only had 2 small flare ups the entire time I was prenant and while nursing! I wouldnt worry at all, I am sure you will get pregnant and see a dramatic reduction in flare ups, and most likely completely dormant for much if not all of your pregnancy! Good luck to you!

Um, please don't bank on not having any outbreaks during pregnancy. I am currently 8 months pregnant and am experiencing the worst break out I have had in 16 years of dealing with HS. I have multiple large bumps on my groin area currently and also one very large one on my breast. I was looking forward to pregnancy because I too had heard that a lot of women had a small remission. Unfortunately, that is not true for everyone and I am living proof of that. I hope you have it easier than I am when you get pregnant :)

I had read that HS levels out during pregnancy. Not for everyone. My HS was at its worst when I was pregnant. I had flare-ups in areas I had never had before. Chest, back, face, you name it. I had a virginal delivery with no problem. Even with my HS being at its worst during pregnancy I still plan on having more children. You have a 50/50 chance. You might have terrible flare-ups or it could temporarily go away during pregnancy. No matter what happens, just remember you have a great group of people here that are more than willing to answer any questions you might have and listen to you vent.

I'm now a little more than 6mo pregnant and my HS hasn't been too bad overall. I have had a few of the worst breakouts I've ever had. One that drained for over 24hours.

I recently had one breakout that was actually inside me, this is starting to concern me for vaginal delivery. I'm also a little worried about the breakouts in the perineum area as that's where they do episiotomies if you need one or where you can tear. I'm not sure how they could stitch over this.

Has anyone experienced either of these scenarios?

I hadn't been diagnosed yet but knew there was an issue when I was pregnant. It was knocked waaaayy down for the time I was pregnant. When they ran all the normal tests and everything came back normal I thought maybe it was just infected hairs going crazy. Plus she pretty much had her nose in there on many occations and as a health care prof. I thought she would have said something.. But no o had to was 2 more years. I am rambling but bottom line I think your body fights it off better and the omega oils in all the vitamins prob help as well. Don't let HS make u miss out of the best thing in the world! My daughter has brought so much joy into my life!

I've had two children, with pretty advanced HS, both natural vaginal births. I tore right through HS giving birth to both of my children, and both times, they just cut out that whole section of skin, and sewed me up. No big deal. I know this awful disease affects every facet of our lives, but please don't worry. They will do what needs to be done to insure that you and your baby are safe, and it's not as if HS is some kind of STD that you could pass to your child through the birth canal. It's in your blood, if they are to get it, it will be much later and due to genetics.

Try your very best to enjoy pregnancy. I also did see a mild remission during pregnancy, but after both of my children, I had HUGE flare ups. I'd say around the three month mark with both. But, as with all else, it's miserable for a while, and then it goes away. Life carries on. I wish you the best of luck with the baby making!

After 9 years of figuring out why me. Why I have this problem with cyst and getting depression I finally got answers on what was wrong. So I am 23 and have HS on and In between my chest. I have been trying to get pregnant for 4 years. I started to think I can never get pregnant with this disease but thank god reading all of your post I have such a stress relief. Please tell me what you ladies did to help you conceive ??
