Pressure should stop the bleeding, I find that works for most open wounds, it just takes time. I would ball something up that you don't mind getting dirty, like an old wash cloth or something else and place it under your arm where it will apply pressure while your arm's down. It may or may not hurt, sometimes my sores don't hurt at all, but it should stop the bleeding in time.

I started getting it pretty heavily under one of my arms recently. This is a new area to have it. I need to consider stuff like that too especially if something happens like that while i'm @ work and all.

I have had a few small ones in the past that turn a deep purple and then will bleed profusely for a few minutes. I remember being amazed at how much blood actually bled out. Mine have always closed up after a few minutes though. Depending where it is, you may be able to use Hold Tite wrap to keep a bandage in place. I've used that on an inner thigh sore to keep gauze in place.

Try asking him for silver sulfadiazine Cream, it will help close the wound. I have been using it for the past 5 years with success.

silver sulfadiazine Cream was given to me for the first time last week after having my second groin surgery and neck surgery...i works very well..the only problem i see with using something like neosporin or triple antibiotic creams is they may cause the area to become plugged and you want to let it be able to drain....i would use abdominal pads or gauze bandage to catch whats draining...also i have noticed that certain fabrics can trigger outbreaks in those areas...( i have had both my armpits completly excised and skin flap surgery done on both) still bothers me but most of the sinus tracks are gone...along with my sweat glands...

thanks for the responses..Im having a little trouble coping with HS right now. Its pretty bad at the moment and I cant help but think its going to get worse or never get better. I know HS is something I will have for the rest of my life but I just need a little remission period, thats all im hoping and praying for. I dont even pray for a cure anymore just a small period of time where I can heal a little physically and mentally. Ive been flaring non stop for a year now with no break and its really taking a toll. Each month its getting worse and worse I cant do anything about it...god help me.

When I first started dealing with this I was breaking out all the time. I was stressing over break outs and getting more and more depressed about my physical apperance. I only get them by my groin area and a little in my armpits. I found the more I kept it clean the better it is. I sweat easily in my groin area because of it, which makes it worse. So I keep feminine wips on me so I can wipe down in those times and make sure I keep the area clean. I've used neosporin on mine before too and it doesn't seem to help me either. I'm going to ask my Dr for that cream the others are suggesting. You should talk to your Dr and see if there's anything they can do for you. Maybe have it mailed to you with mail order perscriptions. Not sure what the laws are down there but it's worth a shot. Good luck, we all know HS is an extremely hard thing to cope with.

i went to the doc and apparently there is nothing for the open sore. He just said to bandage it as less as possible and let time do its thing. Gave me some anti's and sent me on my way. I was able to get him to send me for blood testing and hormone testing. Lets see what comes of that, hopefully an answer.

Good luck to you. The doctors are so in the dark or just plain helpless to help us. Very depressing situation.
