Numb Arm?

I went to see my surgeon yesterday morning and he took my drains out thank god. Yesterday evening I noticed that the back of my arm and my pit are numb. Is that normal? I mean yay it doesn't hurt but its a little worrIsome. I've been doing everything he says because I really want this to work. Maybe I'm just paranoid...

I've experience numbness before when the bump was around a nerve.
I have also experienced what felt like many pulled muscles, almost blinding pain and not being able to move my arm when I had a big monster under my arm. It made the shoulder hurt.
It seems like no two out breaks are the same.
I figure it's just a nerve.

After my surgery under my arms I lost a lot of nerve and had a ton of nerve damage. Needless to say that parts of my arms on the back side I don't have feeling. I hope this helps!

My arm goes numb at times and sometimes there is excruciating, almost puke- worthy pain. Beloved, you may be right when you say it's just probably a nerve. I would rather be numb than hurt...

Its gotten a bit better today. I'm still going to ask my surgeon about it when I see him thursday. If it stays like this I can live with it. Its definitely better than what was there before. I just hope he let's me go back to work soon. I feel like a bum.

I've had a couple of surgeries where that has happened and my surgeon said the same thing that eveyone else is saying about the nerve damage. I'm getting used to the numbness now but it's still kind of annoying but it beats the heck out of the pain that I was feeling prior to the surgeries. My surgeries were in October 2010 and March 2011 and both areas have remained numb due to the nerve damage. Hope this helps!
