I Know. I have the same issue. I am taking KEFLEX right now which seems to make the pain bearable. I am hoping to stay on it for another month or two. I can't sit down all day either, not more than an hour. Usually I eat standing up too...I wish this disease would go away too. FAR Away! Have you considered surgery on it? I am at my wits end and part of me wants it, and part of me doesn't.

My HS is not that bad yet and hasn't affected my bum. However, my husband has the exact issue - I don't think I've seen him "sit" comfortably for more than 5 years now.

He has surgery multiple times a year but they just keep coming back :( I feel so bad for you and I certainly do not complain when I get it under my arms or boobs because I still have the ability to sit.

My husband has a hot bath every night and says that helps "a little". I'm thankful every day that his spirit is still pretty good considering he's in pain every day of his life. He takes percocet (but only when needed) and that barely helps.

I'm sorry to sound so negative, but this stupid disease is so devastating. There are lots of articles online about new treatments and case studies - try looking into those and see if your doctor will try new medications.....

I agree with all of you...I dont see how anybody with the crap on their buttocks sits on hard chairs..My daughter when she gets them on her buttocks can barely sit....it is really tough.... She is a pampered puppy and I help her with anything I can to make her comfortable.... I also wish this stupid devistating disease would go away but so far we have tried diet, meds, you name it and we are still struggling..she has Down Syndrome and is prone to this genetically...Also her sister had a boil somewhere her whole teenage life so it is genetically there...so did my mother..I on the other hand got fibromyalgia.... and I was sick as dog crap with that but this is like horrible... from one day to the next we never know where the next killer bobo will be and when our next trip to Texas Childrens will be for an I&D....This stuff is like horrible. I dont think surgery is my daughter's answer.... too invasive for right now..... am praying some day for some decent research and a perhaps cure? Tangerinebear xo

I know it is a terrible experience, but at least it is draining. I use sterile cotton which you can buy at CVS it comes in a box and is in a roll. Cut or tear off an amount to use to place where the HS is draining then you can place a feminine hygiene pad in your underwear.
If your embarrassed to buy the pads in the store go to the self check out or just say they are for your Mom. If the drainage is really bad you could use something like an adult diaper used for incontinence. I think they come in different sizes and thickness. You can say your buying them for a relative. But really the clerks don't care why your buying a product. So don't be embarrassed or reluctant to get it. This will catch the draining fluid and act as a cushion for sitting. Sorry guy there isn't any easy solution to this I wish there was. Remember keep it cleaned with Hibicleanse and use the Turmeric. I hope this helps you.
