hi everybody i haven,t been on this i hope you all are doing well i have been having painful nights.my but has been killing me badly i have a wound in my but the size of a baseball. it hurts like hell i can,t get no sleep at night my but hurts bad when i go to my technical college my but just in rage of pain i can,t sit down and study because of the pain.i cant take it no more i can,t do the things i want to do because of this stupid hs the other day my but was just leaking bad i could not take it i cried i take pain sleeping pills that helps but my but is under attack what should i do.
For me personally when my "wounds" have been that large a lancing has relived the pain, as well as help the healing process. I also recommend talking to the doctor about starting some prescriptions. This is where peoples opinions can vary, not all prescriptions work for everyone. I can only tell you what is working for me. I'm on 100mg of minocycline, once a day for the last six months. It's been working wonders for me!

Are you sure it's not a pilonidal cyst? I have one now and getting surgery in a month or two. Google it and look at the images. I think HS caused the inflammation. My doctor told me I will need to get it removed bc it will not heal on it's own. It's a small leaking swollen bump and yes, it does hurt. I would suggest going to the hospital and like Tommie said, have it lanced. Take care.
It sounds like you may need to be a long term antibiotic that you can take daily, like bactrim or docyxcline. You can take both of them daily for months and months and not have to stop so that you can get relief alot. Or if the monsters are getting infected, then you may need to have laser surgery. Have you checked into a good doctor in your area that can help you? Now the only thing I want to warn you of as a veteran of HS for the last 25 years, is that when you get surgery in one area it will go away but it will probably pop up in another area, but it may not be as bad in the new area. I had them removed on both of my breast with laser surgery in April. Breasts are doing a lot better, but now my hips, armpits, and ribs are breaking out more then they did before the surgery. Also get some pain medicine. Good luck.
