Could anyone tell me if they have had any sucsess with Erythroped A 500mg. I have been taking it twice a day for 4months and does not seem to help. I have had doxycylene (i cant spell) and retin A cream in the past and they also did not good. The Retin A just took the top couple of layers of skin away. I think i have had hs since i was about 13 (42 now) but only diagnosed with HS about 2 years ago had loads of acne medications in the past. But things seem to be getting worse. I have been told that it should get better when i hit metopause can anyone confirm this for me

I was so excited after I had my hysterectomy because I had a flair up to come and GO on its OWN!! I attributed it to hormones. I was so greatful for that! But it only took 3 months for the HS to come back with a vengence. At this time last year I had my hysterectomy and by June I had multiple hs places that actually are still ON ME! So, I had surgery on my left axilla Last THursday. This is my first time going under the knife except for of course the in office lancing which used to offer me some relief, now just seems to make HS angrier!So needless to say this has been a LONG LONG year! I now what you mean about the top few layers of skin coming off and thats it. My dr. tried every other thing known to the medical community before he actually placed me in the O.R. for complete extraction of the HS area. I still have stiches right now and I am still off of work at the moment. Getting better though! Motrin helps me better than anything because of the swelling that I have. I hope that I have helped you in some way. I went on and on but thats just me!
