Hidradenitis Suppurativa Support Group
Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh) is rare, long-term skin condition that features small, painful lumps under the skin. The disease manifests as clusters of chronic abscesses or boils, sometimes as large as baseballs, that are extremely painful to the touch and may persist for years with occasional to frequent periods of inflammation,...
It's not very big. Only hurts when bumped/scratched.
i make sure i wash my hair at least every other day with tea tree shampoo so as not to infect the lumps & be very gentle when brushing/combing your hair.
if they get very painful & inflamed then use some topical antibiotic on them which helps them heal more quickly.
i hope this helps. take care xx
But I just wanted to tell you, not to panic. That just because you got it, doesn't mean your always going to start getting it! It could be just from sweating in your sleep. I think TOPICAL antibotics such as Clindamycin 1% lotion will do the treat...if I just had $53.00 to buy it. But if your insurance goes it that stuff is awesome. If you use it down south..it totally gets rid of any smell if you know what I mean.
DESTRESS...DESTRESS...DESTRESS...DESTRESS..DESTRESS
I alternate between Head and Shoulders and Tea tree oil shampoos, if I don't my hair doesn't seem to get as clean.
I've never tried topical Clyndamiacin but as soon as my insurance kicks in I'll definately be giving it a try.
Thanks everyone for all your support..I was practically running myself in circles worrying about this new lump, it hasn't grown or gone down...so long as it is not getting bigger I'll probably leave it be until it decides to either go away or get ugly on me.
I sure hope you get to feeling better soon! well I guess I actually hope we all feel better with a quickness!!!
I think the worst worry I really have, other than the pain and the fact that I have a sort of phobia about needles and sharp stuff near me anywhere from the neck up, is the possibility of hair loss.
I have seen a couple of pictures of people who had it really bad on their scalp, and it was not a pretty sight. And my hair is something I take pride in, sorta, I'm not like completely whacked out or OCD or anything about it, but I consider it one of my better features, and have always tried to take care of my scalp and keep my hair neat as much as possible.
I think the biggest factor for me right now is STRESS. I just can't seem to get far away enough fast enough..lol
Got family members acting a fool, friends of friends acting downright retarded. I just can't seem to dodge drama round these parts lately..lol
Thanks again everyone for the support. ajensen, I can't help but feel bad about blowing off steam :P I was raised in a family where it was pounded into your head daily that there are folks out in the world that have it so much worse than you(us as kids), and that it was bad to feel sorry for yourself or complain about your problems.(BUT I am sure there are a LOT of us out there who were raised like this.) Which is why I am so glad to have the support of wonderful folks like yourselves. Unfortunately most if not all of you have had to go thru the same shit with this HS as I have, and know how it is. I've always been good at letting other people cry on my shoulder or piss and moan about their woes, but I have a hard time letting myself bitch about stuff. But that's my malfunction. LOL
Much huggs to you all, and praying for us ALL some relief.
Its ok get it all out. Unleash the bitch.....I mean beast!! LOL haha
Love you!
Dustin
moan away!
