I would call your dr bc everyone is different but I have not heard of it affecting anyone. Try a heating pad and I've heard of witch hazel helps. Take some ibuprofin bc its anti inflamation and it should help with the pain. If they are unbearable you can go to the Dr and have them lanced. I sure hope things get better soon!

I don't know how many shots you have taken at this point, but my advice would be not to get any more of them. I got the first shot, and that was it. I had such terrible side effects, the worse being my hair fell out. I kid you not. I lost so much hair around my hairline that I had to have short bangs cut just to cover the bald spots. It fell out for a long time, and took about a year after it stopped coming out to come back. I got the shot before I even left the hospital from having my son. I bled for 5 straight months afterwards because of that stupid shot. Five months straight! I couldn't even be examined to see what was going on because the bleeding wouldn't stop. I am not sure of the effects Depo has on HS because I didn't have HS at that time. I wish you the best of luck whatever you decide to do.

Well I got on the shot maybe a year ago and i did get the side affect of bleeding for about 6 months straight i wanted to kill my doc...but i only got the shot becuz it helped with the hs it stopped them from coming for a while but it was weird....when i bled my hs was non exsistent...but now since ive gotten the last shot i stopped bleeding but dammit i had the worst flare up ever///like 5 at one time ...i was like what in the crack in hell....but they've all went away thanks to turmeric (i think...it has helped on opening them)....the jurys still out on that...but we shall see wht happens.

i started getting those shots when i had my daughter cause bc pills didnt work for me. it was right after that i had my 2nd shot when i noticed i was getting the bumps. that shot made me gain alot of weight and finally after a yr the dr said it was causing alot of health issues for me and i had to go off it. so be careful taking that shot.

The Depo Provera Shot was a disaster for me long before I had HS. It threw me into this sort of agitated depression that made me feel as if I were going crazy. After the experience with Depo Provera, I never went near any hormones or hormone supplements ever again. More women should be made aware of the possible side effects of Depo.
