I had a lump in the center of my chest that ended up being HS. I could tell because it started to hurt, and then eventually (took a long time) came to a head and was definitely HS. However, if there is no pain, and it doesn't seem like your normal HS I'd be a little concerned and would bring it up with either my general practitioner, or a gynecologist.

I would say its HS if it's sore in the area ..I had a lump removed from my left breast that started off as a tiny bump but grew to the size of a golf ball...it hurted like a b@#tch,,,,and i just recently got checked again bcuz one grew in my right breast it never grew but it was still kind of painful ....i went and got it checked and sure enough it was an abcess....but just to be safe go get it checked out...rather be safe than sorry....=]

I had a lump on my breast that was pretty deep and it turned out to be a follicle infection near the milk duct. I was on an antibiotic for a week and it was gone. I do have a new lump much further down that's HS though. I would go get it checked out anyways with you GYN first before you blow it off. Let us know how it turns out.

Can anyone share experience on getting a mammogram with HS? I have never gotten one ~ mostly because I can't imagine my boobs being squeezed. The pain with the HS would be excruciating. I have heard they do sonogram mammograms. Anyone hear about that?

so for a quick update. i went and seen my doctor today. and she told me that she has never seen so many lumps in a womans breasts. i thought i only had the one in my right breast. well now i know that both my breasts are swarmed with lumps. shes sending me to go get an ultrasound and mammogram in both breasts, along with biopsies.
im really scared right now, and since my mom is adopted, i have no family history on breast cancer. my doctor also said that she in no way believe this is the HS. i dont even know what to think or do. :(

Thanks for updating us. I'm sorry to hear that you have to go through more stressful tests. It is so so so much easier said then done but all you can do is breathe. And Slowly. Take a break. Try to take your mind off of it. Stress is bad for HS and for really any kind of health issue, so try to remain calm. I know it's a hard thing to do (I'm being tested for cushing's syndrome right now and I know that it's hard). Keep us updated, we care about ya. Many positive thoughts heading your way... It's HS I just had surgery to remove it! Go to the Dr and talk about removing it!

Ok so I have had HS and lunps in my breast. Yes I did mammograms with HS and it can be a little uncomfortable but since surgery I only do ultrasound or MRI. I first had surgery on my chest and breast for HS but because we all know the skin for HS patient takes longer to heal, plus I was Double D I was not healing. then I went in and the doctors said I had so many lumps that if I got Cancer it would be hard to find until in grew big so they recomened that i have a breast reduction. Which I did. the surgery too so long cause my left breast had over 30 cysts in it. But i am glade I did it because my HS outbreak had been less since the surgery.

Well, girlie, I really hope it's nothing more serious. I hate to say that it may be the C word but being a cancer survivor myself, you will get thru this. Keep us updated on what the sonogram, biopsies, and mamogram says. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Some women have dense lumpy breasts. I will pray this is your only concern. God Bless!

K9 being that you have multiples in both breasts and they are painful, it does not sound like breast cancer at all. So try not to worry too much. I had breast cancer, and I felt no lump, and felt no pain. I am sure everything will be fine.

I just wanted to share that I also have lumps in my breasts. My PCP sent me to a GYN that specializes in breasts. I affectionately call him my boobie Dr ; ). He put me through the same tests that your Dr. is recommending. My biopsy came back clean. He followed up with me for a year and there were no major changes. In the end, the diagnosis for me is "fibrocystic breasts". I understand that going through this is scary and nerve racking, but stress can aggravate our condition. Try to take extra good care of yourself, think positive, and continue to be proactive in your health care. I hope my words have helped and I wish you the best.
