Hey all!!! I'm so glad I found other with the same problem. I have been diagnosed since 2013. I have found the best therapy for me was going on a diet....no nightshades(no tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants, or peppers except for black or white pepper only)...I'm currently trying to quit smoking. The diet has helped so much though. My out breaks only happen when I eat them. I am also on spironolactone 100 mg with birth control and also taking bleech baths(once a week, roughly 2 tbsp of bleech), benzo preoxide 10% and clindamyacin lotion or solution(during out breaks helps). I have had 3 surgeries do to this. I was told I should try humira but super scared too. Any one on it can give me advice on it.

i tried changing my diet, i didn't even have time to notice change i started having other health issues like getting dizzy, i got back eating everything again

Eliminated one by one. Start by not eating tomatoes, than potatoes. Nightshades are in so much food. I am also gluten free. Which makes it's even trickier. I eat normal foods....rice pasta instead of pasta. Use pesto sauce instead of tomatoes sauce. Minor changes shouldn't give health issues. Drastic ones will. It's called an elimination diet. Basically continue eating but certain foods are removed. I noticed a huge improvement with in 1 month or 2.

I’ve been reading your post . I️ wanted to ask you more about your diet and the changes you’ve made ..recently I’ve given up chicken and beef but you mentioned tomatoes and potatoes and even gluten ...how did this help you? What changes did you notice ? Also I️ wanted to know if the surgery in the groin was helpful ??? I’m at my wits end with my groin area it’s getting worse! Surgery is my only option at this point but how did yours go ? Did it affect your walking around and getting to work horribly? And was the affected area heal well ??

Hey, I'm trying to get the word out about what I just discovered! Drinking a TON of Cranberry juice every single day stopped the reoccurring cycle of my HS. I am no longer in pain and I feel great. I don't know if this will work for you and I'm not saying this is not a cure but it wouldn't hurt to give it a try.

P.S When I stopped drinking the Cranberry Juice, the HS started back up again so I started drinking it again and it stopped

ive had surgery to remove the skin in my groin three times now, in the same areas. its only a solution to get rid of the skin when its just done for. Those 3 times my skin was not salvageable. its not a cure by any means, and it usually reoccurs in the scars.

ive also tried humira (once a week). i didn't care for it at all really, but its suppose to help lessen the pain, not completely cure it. the thing with humira is that its a very painful shot. i tried sucking it up because that 30 seconds of pain was better than the 24/7 pain of HS, but then i started bruising and getting hurt really easily. i don't think this is a side effect in everyone, but that's why i decided to go off of it. its definitely something to consider, its just not for everyone.

Destinee22 do you have an idea why cranberry juice helped? Hey if it works than maybe I will give a try. I love cranberry juice lol :) so that should be easy:)

Slindsey how far down did they go....they removed alot on me. They went deep and had to remove the full pocket intact...they said if there is an active flare up they wouldn't been able to stitch it up. It's never came back and it's been 3 years now.
