I went shopping today for a top for my friends birthday and while I was in the fitting room I caught sight of myself all bandaged and scarred everywhere and broke down and cried. Yesterday one of my friends at work says to me that one of my boobs is bigger than the other. When I had my surgery in december my doctor had to remove part of it because of the HS. I was just hoping no one would notice. I know she didn't mean anything by it but it really didn't help.
I know I'm not ugly from the neck up, with clothes on but I feel like I'm losing confidence. I don't want to go through the rest of my life with this body. I honestly don't know how my bf looks at me and isn't disgusted because I'm disgusted with myself.

I NEVER try on clothes. Mirrors and lighting in stores are hard enough, never mind if you're scarred up. They just make every mark look bigger, redder and meaner. Take clothes home and try them on there, if they don't work, take them back. I always look better in my own home, surrounded by the things I love.
I haven't been active in this group for many years, but that's about to change. I need the support of people who are living through experiences similar to mine. I need to connect, to tell my story. I need to recieve and to give honest feedback.
So, please remember that you are beautiful. The scars don't change how lovely I'm sure you are on the inside!
