Im not sure if I have HS and have not been diagnosed with it even though I have seen a derm regarding my problem. He took a look at my armpits and said that it doesnt look like HS. He prescribed me topical clindamycin which I use when i get a spot (My derm was familiar with HS). I am hoping that you guys will be able to provide me with some insight because I know HS is different for everyone and hopefully someone out there has something similar to me.
Basically, I first started getting cysts/boils about 5 years ago when I waxed my armpits and bikini/pubic area for the first time. Havent waxed since and only shave/trim. I got one in each armpit that was really painful and I popped them and havent gotten it since. Except a few weeks ago i got one right above my armpit, it started out as a pea sized hard lump under the skin and a week or two later got inflammed and filled with liquid. I went to the clinic because the whole underside of my arm got red and sore. She prescribed some antibiotics which i never finished and some anti inflammatories. I did manage to get some watery blood/pus out and since then it has started to go down and is almost gone, although i can still feel a little fluid filled small sack but with each day it gets smaller and smaller.
As for my pubic area, I usually have 4 or 5 really small spots. They are always in the same area and just come and go. Some spots feel soft to the touch as if they are filled with fluid and have an irregular shape while others closer to my anal area are small and hard like a pimple. I can sometimes get the soft ones to drain watery blood/pus if I poke it but otherwise I leave them alone and they do nothing. They do grow a little if my clothes constantly rub on it. They also dont hurt unless my clothes irritate it or I press them.
I havent correlated my outbreaks to anything in particular ie. certain foods but I find they are less bothersome when I am on BC pills. I usually dont even think about it until I have a major sore like my arm recently. My most bothersome outbreaks happen when I am off the pill and now since I gave birth 3 months ago.
I decided to post on this forum because after all the research ive done, i havent found any stories like mine. Most of the stories ive read tell of people having multiple large painful boils that drain constantly and smell bad. Mine are NOT like this so i am confused as to what I have. Ive also looked at pics of HS online and mine dont look like it physically either. I dont have sinus tracts or horrible scaring just some minor discoloration in the affected areas. Oh and my bumps are flesh colored but i have darker skin so they probably wouldnt be red either way.
Sorry for the long post but it feels good to finally get this off my chest after 5 years of suffering in silence with whatever it is that ails me. If it is HS I pray to god it stays mild and does not advance. I pray every day that my daughter doesnt get it either. I feel for all of you who have a more severe form and desperately hope someone comes up with a cure or better treatment. Oh and i should also mention that i regularly take turmeric as I read that it helps.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
