If so, wouldn't a hysterectomy essentially be a treatment. Has anyone here went through menopause and had their HS go away? I'm sure it would be super controversial but if someone were done having children and it actually does subside wouldn't it make sense to have a hysterectomy? I'm just wondering because my sister has had ovarian cysts for 8 years. She has 2 kids miraculously because her ovaries were destroyed awhile ago by the abundance of cysts and tumors on them. Anyways she just had a hysterectomy because the cysts could have killed her. Now she is going through menopause in her 30s. So after I read that menopause subsides after menopause my mind just wandered towards this topic.
I was also wondering if birth control helps or hinders HS? I read both so I'd like to hear from people who have actually gone through it. I am currently on birth control for ovarian cysts myself so I fear if it makes the HS worse I may face a double edged sword.

I believe there is a hormonal connection to our HS. I am not sure what would happen with the hormonal swings that would come with a hysterectomy or how hard it would be to balance the hormones synthetically after the procedure and what if any impact that would have on our HS. I wonder if synthetic hormones would make HS worse.
As far as BC goes, I think there are some formulas that can be helpful. I found some brands made it worse whereas others seemed to a positive improvement to HS, specifically ones that contain sprinolactone. I was on and off of the pill for years in my 20s and help reduce breakouts. It think its all about maintaining the right hormonal levels for your body.

My dermatologist is trying laser treatments. I've gone through 4 hair removal treatments for my underarms without benefit. Next we're going to try the IPL laser. If I find "the cure", I'll let you all know:)
