I was eating a lot of raisins and nut mixture after I quit smoking 3 years ago. I was also eating Frosted Shreaded wheat. During that time I was having the worst flares ever.
It was only when I went gluten free that I got relief from the flares. I did not resume my raisin eating because of the sugar level in raisins and I had to work on that as well.
Just my observations and experience - but raisins are really good for you!
I have nothing to loose....need to get some different gluten free things anyway.
Also will be looking into the acidosis issue and educating myself about raisins in the meantime.
Thanks!
As you may have researched the body's immune system is weakened when our body is to acidic. Since we have an auto immune desease it makes sense to do everything we can to strengthen ours as much as we can..
I found a list of alkalizer foods that will help alot with balancing our ph and bring us out of acidic state. I don't think the list has any gluten foods but of course just stay away from those. I will update my post on PH with the list that I carry for shopping and the link to the web site I got it from.
