can't say that I have teeth problems....but have only had this for about 5 years.

Good grief, I never associated it with that...my teeth have been horrible for years, but half of it is due to my fear of dentists. But you have a good point there.

Yes I am having prob. with my gums they are swelling and painfull!

I never had any major dental issues but every now and then i do get gum swelling, ohh and i used to get baddd mouth ulcers. I now get stomach ulcers and have bad acid reflux. Dont know if thats associated.

Yes, my teeth were the same way and I eventually had them all pulled at age 25 and received dentures. That was a huge relief. I had gorgeous teeth, then one day one broke so I went to the dentist.. as I had done regualarly all my life, and she fixed it with a filling that lasted about a month. 2 root canals followed ( I would NEVER reccomend a root canal! ) then more breakage. MY dentist eventually determined that my constant use of antibiotics and medication had played a key role in my tooth decay and loss. I mean I saw the dentist regularly before this and brused at least twice a day everyday AND flossed, I was proud of how nice my teeth looked, then within 4 years of the first tooth breaking they were a total mess. Constant tooth aches, constant breaking etc. Life was a nightmare, pain in groin, under arms, and mouth. I couldn't stand it. Today I have no real teeth, and I couldn't be happier about that fact, I do still go to the dentist (sounds corny but I do!) and have my gums treated and my teeth checked for fit. I also still have "ghost pain" sometimes, I would swear I have a tooth ache yet there are no teeth in my head! LOL! Oh, and my hubby (my 2nd hubby) never knew for the first 2 years that we were married that I HAD dentures, I do everything in mine and NEVER take them out except to brush and then it is back in! My 2nd hubby, Chuck, only found out when my first hubby was considering dentures and asked how mine were working out for me! LOL! Chuck coulda been pushed over with a feather, he was totally shocked! LOL! Being a young female I was always embarrased about having dentures, so I hid it from everyone that I could at the time, but time makes all things easier and now I am able to talk about it openly and without regret or remorse. I would do it again in a second if I had it to do over again, the pain just wasn't worth it!

Oh yes! Since my H.S. moved on to stage 2, my teeth are breaking apart and I am getting a lot of abscesses. I've had one pulled and have a lot of fractures and broken teeth.

I've had HS for 40 years and my teeth just started getting worse. I am not afraid of dentists and had alot of work done. Finally, said the hell with it and got dentures. Best thing I ever did! I love them! My dentist and oral surgeon don't know I have HS, but they told me what they thought my problem was with my teeth and it made sense.

I forgot, I used to get boils on my gums! I do think those were from HS. Got to the point I;d just rinse with hot salt water and they'd either break or go away.

I finally went to a dentist and got to discuss HS with her before she examined my teeth, (or whats left of them). What she thinks is that HS probably makes us that have it, prone to infections any where in our systems. I also get urinary track infections when my HS is flaring up. I think I'm at stage 3 cause when it flares up bad, I get golf ball size lumps. Anyway, some of my teeth were ones that I had root canals in and they just got brittle and broke. She said the rest of them are genetic (my mother lost all her teeth by her early twenties, so genes play a role) and dental care like flossing. I did have an absess below my eye, high on my cheek. Even with the exrays she took, she really couldn't tell if it was actually cause by a tooth or an infection in my sinuses since I didn't have any tooth pain. She's working with me, so that's the best part of it.

I'm currently watching a documentary on Netflix called "root cause" about root canals causing issues and it made me think about my HS and my teeth being linked and I've noticed that my teeth have all gone to s#&*t and my HS has been around for all that time, I'm going to go to my dermatologist and my dentist and see what they think because majority of my teeth are falling apart and I've had like 7 extractions, I'm so embarrassed about my teeth that I don't leave the house, I'm 25 and look like I've been smoking for 50 years, are dentures really good? Will anyone know ?

I have also had major issues with my mouth. I had slight problems, but after my first pregnancy everything went absolutely crazy. I discussed my HS with my dentist, and also told her about my Vitamin D, Calcium and Iron deficiencies. (There have been studies to show Vit D deficiency and HS are related) She said the HS probably played a huge role in my mouth falling apart. I struggled for years with the mouth pain as well as the HS, and finally pulled the trigger and got rid of the one I could control. Went to full dentures and couldn't be happier.

Over the past year, I had 4 teeth removed! I'm 36 and couldn't believe it and am feeling really down in the dumps. I've had HS since I was 15 but have managed it pretty well. I also had two kids back to back recently and think that may have impacted me as well. I'm getting dental implants but if I lose more the cost is going to be crazy!
