Hidradenitis Suppurativa Support Group
Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh) is rare, long-term skin condition that features small, painful lumps under the skin. The disease manifests as clusters of chronic abscesses or boils, sometimes as large as baseballs, that are extremely painful to the touch and may persist for years with occasional to frequent periods of inflammation,...

I wear either tank tops with bras in them or genie bras, depending on how my skin is at the moment.
For the most part I wear shorts as underwear. They breathe better and I can move them up and down my waist so they don't make sores from being in one spots.
I DO actually wear jeans, but, NEVER with zippers or buttons. They have to be elastic waist band, and the shorts have to behigh enough the elastic never touches my skin.
It's nice to feel "normal" sometimes though. And with a long enough shirt you can NOT tell that my jeans are elastic.
Side note: The jeans are cheap too! I get them at walmart in just my size for about 16 bucks. :D
Toni, when I can't tolerate the boy short undies I wear boxers for men or the jockey shorts. I have heard mixed reviews about the under armour stuff - it wicks away sweat and all that but personally it didn't work for me. As far as bras go, most men have a better chest than I do *giggles* so I usually just wear cotton sports bras.
I have toyed with the idea of wearing more skirts since my HS is primarily below the waist, anything that conforms to the body too much eventually causes a flare.
Question - has anyone else here had the joy of random strangers giving you advice on your appearance? I seem to just have a sign that screams "Tell me I need a make over!" I guess? :/
I just tell people to think before they speak now cause they don't know a persons full story of why they dress the way they do!!!
I really understand what you're saying about the clothing. One thing that struck me about my wardrobe is that I mostly wear dark colors these days. Suppose it helps with not showing stains. Anyone else going through this.
