Hidradenitis suppurativa (hi-drad-uh-NIE-tis sup-yoo-ruh-TIE-vuh) is rare, long-term skin condition that features small, painful lumps under the skin. In general, I like goat milk soap, because of the caprylic acid in it. I think it makes a (very small) difference directly to my HS, but it also definitely helps my other skin conditions, like keratosis pilaris and it stops me from getting yeast infections on my skin. That can indirectly help the HS.
Sometimes with regular soaps, like Dove or Ivory, I feel like they leave a residue on my skin that makes my skin moist or sticky. Then either bacteria build up faster and I get breakouts, or where my skin rubs the skin sticks to itself and I get tiny breaks in the skin, leaving openings for bacteria to get in and cause the boils.
So I do wonder if the black soap would be a good thing. I'll have to try it, thank you for sharing!
