This particular surgery hurts like an SOB. But different doctors so hence different results. I will not be going back to this new doctor. The doctor that had done the surgery in my left armpit went on to make his own practice. I don't know exactly what was done last time but the last time I went in for surgery on my left armpit when I woke up I did not hurt was not in any pain, and they had stitched the area where they had cut out the "bad spots". I felt good, but do not know if they put me under general or if they did it like was done this time. This time I was supposedly going to do a twilight sleep type of surgery. When I woke up though my armpit was killing the hell outta me and I had a damn tube in my right nostril..apparently I had started snoring part of the way through surgery and they had had to put it in to keep airflow going.
All I know is I woke up with my head feeling like it was going to explode and then when the nurse took it out I felt like my head was going to collapse.
Shit hurt so bad that I had to get my pain management doc to give me something else...which was 4mg Dilaudid...I dunno what the hell that shit is supposed to be... O.o
The worst part was after surgery my armpit burned like someone had a branding iron in that bad boy. They did not stitch it up this time and instead glued the incisions shut. I thought they left that kinda thing for small cuts and wounds..not incisions that run from your breast to halfway round ya. And the same with the other incision which runs almost the whole length of my armpit.
But what really kicked the pup...when I showed the doctor the new areas that had popped up..he decided not to remove them...all the while trying to tell me that people ONLY get HS in their armpits, breast areas, groin and buttocks areas....REALLY...REALLY??
I told him very quickly that that was not true and explained to him I was part of a support group and KNEW that to not be true, that there were people out there with it on their face and scalp, neck ect.
I could not believe he was THIS ignorant. He has a LOT to learn but he won't be doing it by working on ME.
So now begins the hunt for a NEW surgeon. This sucks. But better a new search than to keep letting this inexperienced person make another cut on me. Ah well.
I will post pics of the right when I am not scared shitless to raise my arm more than just a little bit to take the pictures. If I had stitches I wouldn't worry so much. I try to keep moving it just so I don't wind up with frozen shoulder...then I would be in a sorry way..lol
