I had a baaad reaction last Friday night. Fever, chills, achyness, and then I got what looked like pinkeye w/o the pain and infectious discharge. I was sick! I took a hot shower to stop the chills, and got in there and couldn't move! I was just shaking and still didn't warm up. Monday morning I had the pink eyes but no symptoms at all. Be careful folks. This is why I didn't want to get my ass cut on in the first place-I knew I would end up taking the antibiotics which aren't good for me. And guess what? He cut me and that thing swelled back up in less than a week. Good for nothing pills!
This is exactly why I stress to people that long term antibiotic use with HS is not good for us, unless we really really need it. The great vast majority of the time when mine are cultured, they come back as regular skin bacteria. So unless I get one that causes me to run a high fever, antibiotics for the most part do me no good. I know some of us test positive for bacteria that need antibiotic treatment.
I would like to know (think I'll make a thread on this) how many of us have had cultures done on our aliens, and how many times we had them cultured, and how many times we actually had something other than "normal skin bacteria" on our cultures.
purpleworld, I hope you are able to get relief. This disease sucks so much, and it makes me so angry that doctors, who have preached so long and hard against the overuse of antibiotics, continue to try to stuff us with them, knowing the possibilities for becoming immune or allergic to them.
