Not sure what to tell you about the scars besides plastic surgery :( I have tons of scars as well and love my tank tops so it's been hard. I've learned to be super aware of keeping my arms down so noone can see the scars. It's a pretty crappy disease.

What I find kind of interesting is that my husband has it (so severe that he has multiple surgeries per year because his don't break), I have it and my adoptive mother has it...so 3 people not blood related in the same house, but they say that it's genetic and only 2% of the population have it.....

I've started going to the gym to lose weight, although I'm not really that overweight to begin with and my husband is not at all, and am going to start trying the turmeric. I have an appointment with a dermatologist in January and am hoping to have the sweat glands removed from under my arms.

Thanks!! Yeahh I have thought about surgery but I am so affraid of the scars after. It looks like a very painful procedure. You should also ask your doctor about trental. Trental is used for something with blood but for some reason it has helped. I have a few spots that are deep in my arm pit. For some reason if I move my arm a certain way or push on it, it tingles. I don't know if it is my nerves or what.

I haven't met anyone with this disease but doctors NEED to do more research. They need a foundation for this. I am so sick of this.

Sounds like you are doing good with treatments. I wouldj ust tell your sister that she needs to work with you due to your condition. Reminder her of what your armpits look like then she will probably work around it. Enjoy the wedding!

i just wanted to say i just started getting it in my armpits and breasts after yrs of only having it down below. and of course my thing to wear is tank tops. even in the winter. where i live its cold. i was wondering how this trental and zinc helps? also about the wedding. i think you should just break down and tell your sister about your H.S. i finally after atleast 15 yrs broke down i told my mom. i was curious if she knew any family members w/ this and unfortunatly she doesnt. but i think my niece may have it, cuz i saw her w/ a huge cyct in her armpit. poor girl. i told her to goto the doc. well your sis picks you out a dress you will feel comfy in so you can have fun w/out worrying the whole time!!

Yeahh i have told her about it already. My sister and my mom know about my HS. I told my mom years ago. They say it is genetic but i have NO idea who has it in my family.

The Trental is actually used for blood clots or something but it actually has helped my HS. The dermatologist that i went to is AMAZING. she really knows about HS and has helped me out. Zinc Sulfate helps with inflammation so it has helped. I also have a clindamycin topical solution.
