I have been an addict for 13 years, addicted to heroin, i have been in rehab several times. The first thing they tell you in rehab is to cut your past away and live independently,. Give him time, he will be confused and his head will be all over the place.. He may have issues in the fact that you remind him of using, also you may have triggers that make him think of the past..Its hard i know, and people like you are a god send, its hard to find a partner that understands and wants the best for you,..I hope things work out..

You want him clean right? Then this shouldn't be about you and what you've done or what you want. If you want him clean, let him do what he has to do. Be his friend - you can't predict the future, but you've already seen the past.
Peace to you.
but he wont if you dont let him go- its the hardets thing to do but you have to let him go with your blessing and permission- its hard i know but staying with somone is not a duty.
i do know how you feel but i also know that he is in a serious place right now and is also probably following advice from professionals.
that said the blighter will probably meet someone new in re hab or something! and that puts his "i need to be on my own" thing in perspective!
find someone who is willing to commit and who is just as willing as you are
