Hepatitis C is a blood-borne viral disease which can cause liver inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) is spread by blood-to-blood contact with an infected person's blood. Many people with HCV infection have no symptoms and are unaware of the need to seek treatment. Hepatitis C infects an estimated 150-200 million people worldwide.
Most of you know that the first tx for me with peg/riba didn't hold up and I relapsed. I don't seem to have the patience to weed through all the web sites that I keep getting re routed to in my searches so I'd like to ask if anyone has any known links to treatment options for me. I know there are tons of "natural" ones out there but I'm mostly interested in Pharm types now. If that fails again then I'll ask about homeopathics

i simply googled up drug studies being conducted at our nearest universities. i asked to be considered for each study pertaining to hepc. in a matter of hours my email was answered and i was asked to call them. the lady sed they have many upcoming studies and i would be placed in a database to be considered for the most appropriate one. these drug trials are free and even pay travel money. they have simplified the process in that you no longer have to apply for each study individually. interferon just didnt work for me. good luck napaman..

Cap'n's advice is good. New studies are flying in right and left. Also google and see if there is an independent liver study center near you. I just lucked into one that is only 25 mi from home and I live in the boonies! Am finishing a Trial next wk. So far I'm Undie since week 2. Abbot is starting a huge trial of the meds I'm on now. Its nationwide and starts in Sept or Oct. 500 people both tx. naive and non-responders. You may try googling Abbot Hep C Trial.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus).
