Wes do you take the drugs because of the hep c or because of the tx?

I've tried all sorts of anti's. The sides are always bad! I now just take a 1/4 to 1/2 an Ativan when needed!

i'm on remeron but i haven't taken it in a week. and i feel good.

I'm just 1 week post tx. and started taking my .5 mg Xanax again. Tried it cold turkry for 1 week but hey...Xanax is legal....and it WORKS REAL GOOD!!!
So my post tx coctail is:
Metformin (dibetes)
amlodipine(blood pressure)
atenolol (blood pressure)
lisinopril (Cholesteral)
hydrochlorothiazide (Blood pressure)
alprazolam..(Xanax)
Glyburide (Diabetes)

What kind of pain do you have? My Dr. tells me I am not suppose to have pain and I do. Do you have Hep C? I also have liver cherossis (sp). I'm really looking for people that are going through the same thing as I am. Good luck and God Bless

I have fibromyalgia type pain in both feet. I have arthritis type pain in both knees. My upper left arm hurts like hell and is useless unless I keep it close to my body. My right arm hurts a little in the same spot.

Oh yeah. And I have hep c 1A and the 48 week tx didn't work.

Sorry that you are in such pain. That is no fun. Do you go to a Dr. regularly? I'm in pain too and they tell me that I am not suppose to feel any pain. Guess they are wrong!!!!!

My g.p. and my psych doc are giving me the drugs. I see them regularly.

Inquisitive: Positively YES for some people Hep C causes tremendous pain. There are studies that believe there is a strong correlation between Fibromyalgia and Hep C. may be. My Hep doc says I have "Rheumatoid Hep" in other words, symptoms that mimic rheumatoid arthritis, and I have mixed essential Cryoglobulinemia rare blood disease that a small % of Heppers develop. The virus causes granules to form in the blood. It also causes joint and muscle pain, neuropathy and can effect organs. there are a few tx;s for it but they say it usually clears w/ SOC Hep C treatment.

As for med cocktails, not on tx..yet, am starting anti-d's in 3 weeks,
Take synthroid for thyroid (Hep C may also affect thyroid and tx. may as well. Vitamin D, Pain meds, sedative for sleep as needed.

Hey nealy, Do you take Vit D suppliments or try to get it from natural dietary sources and sun exposure. I just read SOME study that said Vit D suppliments are not good for those with Hep C and we should try to get it from diet/sun. Sounds like your doc is on the ball - what does he/she say?

Been on anti d's for years, still am.
The only thing I ever take for pain - was ibuprofen, going back to tylenol as the most recent research suggests. Do not take very often, don't need.

man i had to endure infergen abuse without pain meds or sedatives.
i dont think id have cracked if id been doctored differently. va still wouldnt give me a pain pill if i were on fire.. i take trazadone to help me sleep, obviously not working very well, and citalapram for an ad..i think theye both just white chalk with shit stamped on em..
SAPS !!

I take Calcium/D supplement. Low dose. My Hep doc approved. All my meds are perscribed by GP but Hep doc reviews. GP is well educated on Hep, even if I need anti-biotics for something she researches and tries to perscribe ones that are less hard on liver.
Because of the Cryoglobulemia, which cold makes sx's worse, I get little sun during winter. Have to stay in the house and stay warm as much as possible.
